A while back, SIMs creators took things to the next level, turning this classic role playing game into a hybrid of the original and classic strategy-centric games with SIMS Medieval. And due to its success, there’s a new, and arguable improved, expansion available.
The original game was nothing to sneeze at, although the expansion, Pirates and Nobles, focuses on one specific kingdom. Concentrating more on peacekeeping than the quests of the original version, here your goal is to reach various diplomatic goals in the Kingdom of Ambition.
The two factions, nobles and pirates, are at war, and it’s your SIM’s job to ease the tension. The quests are all centered on this, and you get to choose who you ultimately support in the beginning of the game as well as throughout it, seeing how each decision sways both side’s opinion of you and their willingness to give you items and aid that you need for your own kingdom. While diplomacy is king here, your ultimate goal is to improve and protect your kingdom, and this complexity is really where the game Pirates and Nobles shines.

In addition to the increased hours of gameplay for SIMs Medieval, there are also several new options for your individual SIM, including clothes, hair, and eyeliner options (because Pirates do utilize different techniques for that black smudgy effect, ya know). Additional traits, new objects to gather up, and plenty of treasure hunting, and this expansion pack is most certainly one of the better in its class. Enjoy!
The Sims Medieval: Pirates & Nobles is free to play.
